Furnishing the New Palace of Westminster

In this 30-minute free online talk, Assistant Collections Manager, Emily Spary explores the history of some of the 10,000 objects contained in the Historic Furniture & Decorative Arts Collection.

Objects from the collection will be used to illustrate the contributions of furnituremakers and craftsmen from across the UK who were involved in furnishing the New Palace of Westminster after the fire of 1834. Many of the objects can still be found in daily use throughout the Parliamentary Estate.

At the end of the talk, 15 minutes are available for you to ask questions.
